CCSA’s Brown Bag Packing Program Groups of Volunteers are invited to CCSA to prepare brown bags that are used for distribution to clients on a monthly basis. Clients may receive up to 4 bags every visit. Bags are filled with Rice, Dry Beans, Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, Mac & Cheese, Peanut Butter, Tuna or Canned Chicken, Oatmeal or Cereal, and Soup. Volunteers can make up to 200 brown bags in a couple of hours. This is often done on a prearranged Saturday, however, it can also be done on other days as well with prior arrangements. CCSA serves over 29,000 individuals a year. These bags are handed out very quickly and it really helps the agency to have a number of them made up ahead of time before each week begins. If you belong to a Youth group or have friends you would like to do this with, and you are looking for a place to volunteer, please call Connie or Juana at CCSA 858-274-2273. As Mother Teresa said “If you can’t feed 100 people who need help, then feed one.”
