CCSA’s Cash4Food Campaign offers CCSA supporters an opportunity to donate money specifically for the purchase of food. CCSA has the ability to purchase food from Feeding America and the San Diego Food Bank at prices well below ordinary grocery store prices. For CCSA supporters who are unable, or would prefer not, to shop for food and bring it to a member church or one of CCSA’s service centers this is an opportunity to direct monetary contributions for food knowing that CCSA will receive great value for the dollars you contribute.
What is special about the Cash4Food Campaign in 2015?
In 2015, we have anonymous donors that will match the Cash4Food donations on a dollar for dollar basis up to a total of $5,000. This applies to donations given June 1 – August 31, 2015. If you intend to give to CCSA in the next few months, now is the time to do it.
How can donations be made to the Cash4Food Campaign?
Make your donations by August 31st so they will count toward the total funds that will be matched.
Supporters may either mail checks to CCSA, contribute through their member churches, or use PayPal below. If you write a check, please be sure to specify “CCSA Cash4Food” on your check and mail to CCSA CA$H4FOOD, 4167 Rappahannock, San Diego CA 92117.

How does the Campaign help CCSA?
The Cash4Food Campaign helps CCSA in three important ways:
1. It helps ensure that we will have enough food for our clients this summer and fall. The amount of the federal goverment’s emergency food support available to our agency has varied the past few years. Your support will ensure that we can continue to serve our clients no matter when the federal support arrives or what the actual amount of support will be.
2. It enables us to take advantage of the below-retail food prices at Feeding America and the San Diego Food Bank thus stretching the value of every dollar donated for food.
3. It helps ensure that we will meet our 2015 budget.
Does this Campaign eliminate or reduce CCSA’s ongoing need for food donations?
Absolutely not. Your ongoing, generous food donations fulfill all but a small portion of CCSA’s food needs. We use food purchases only to supplement your donations.
